Creating a new project in Triark Cloud allows you to define the framework for your technical documentation, workflows, and products. Each project acts as a top-level container that links all related data together.

🖱️ How to Create a Project

  1. Click "+ Project"
    Use the + Project button at the top of the Project List View.
  2. Fill in the Project Details
    Use the Project creation panel on the right side of the screen.

🗂️ Project Fields Explained

Field
Description
Number
The project’s unique ID or reference number. This is mandatory.
Name
The project name. Use a clear and descriptive title.
Folder Template
Choose a predefined folder structure to automatically set up document folders.
WBS Template
Select a Work Breakdown Structure template to define project phases or deliverables.
Zone Structure
Optionally define project zones (e.g., buildings, departments).
Category
Classify the project (e.g., Customer, Internal, Testing).
Status
Set the current workflow status (e.g., In Progress, Done, Offline).
Status Description
Add a detailed explanation of the project’s current state if needed.

🛠️ Example Use Case: Project Setup in Engineering

An engineering manager creates a new customer project by:

  • Defining the project number and name
  • Using a Folder Template to create standard document folders automatically
  • Assigning a WBS Template for project phases
  • Setting the category to Customer Project and status to In Progress
  • Linking all future documents and product data to this project

This standardizes the setup and reduces manual work.

🔐 Who Can Create Projects?

Only users with Project Creation permissions can create new projects. Typically this includes:

  • Project Managers
  • Administrators
  • Users with custom roles assigned by your company

Q: Can I edit the project after it’s created?
Yes, you can edit most fields later, but some structural elements may be locked if the project is connected to other data.

Q: Do I have to use templates?
No, templates are optional but recommended to ensure consistency.

Q: What if I don’t fill out all fields?
Only Number and Name are required fields. Other fields are optional but help structure your project correctly.
