Folder Templates can have Types, which allow you to adjust the structure depending on the use case. For example, a βFullβ type might include every folder, while a βSmall Private Boatβ type could exclude certain sections.
π Understanding the Interface
The Folder Templates page is divided into two main sections:
- Folder Categories (left table) β Groups different folder structures.
- Folder Records (right table) β The actual folder structure for the selected category, with checkboxes linking them to Types.
Types work like a matrix:
- Rows β Folders in your structure.
- Columns β Types (e.g., Full, Small Private Boat).
- Checkbox β Connects a folder to a type.
β Creating a New Folder Category
- Click + Category at the top of the Folder Categories list.
- Fill in:
- Name β Name of the folder template category (e.g., βVessel OBS 1β).
- Description β Optional explanation of the category.
- Sorting β Number to decide where it appears in the list.
- Click Save and Close.
π Adding Folders to the Structure
- Select a category from the left table.
- Click + Record in the Folder Records table.
- Fill in:
- Number β The order of the folder in the structure.
- Name β Folder name (e.g., β3. FDV Dokumentasjonβ).
- Description β Optional details about folder usage.
- Sorting β Position inside its level.
- Click Save.
π· Creating and Managing Folder Types
Folder Types define variations of the folder structure.
- Click + Type in the Folder Records table.
- Fill in:
- Name β Type name (e.g., βFullβ, βSmall Private Boatβ).
- Description β Brief explanation of when to use it.
- Sorting β Number for display order.
- Click Save and Close.
Once created, you can tick or untick checkboxes to connect folders to each type.
π Linking Folders to Types
- Checked β Folder is included in that type.
- Unchecked β Folder is excluded from that type.
Example:
- Full type β All folders checked.
- Small Private Boat type β βStyrhusβ folder unchecked so itβs excluded from that version of the structure.
π« Disabling a Folder Category or Type
Once used in a project, you cannot delete it. If you no longer wish to use it, set Active to False to disable it.
